For the third time in a fortnight, angry Opposition parties in Maharashtra on Saturday again attacked Karnataka Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai's latest statements on the boiling border issue.
"Maharashtra delegation meeting Union Home Minister (Amit Shah) will not make any difference. Maharashtra has tried this in the past too. The case is in the Supreme Court. Our legitimate case in the Supreme Court is strong. Our government will not make any compromise on the border issue," Bommai said in a tweet.
Maharashtra: Forest department rescues leopard from near Nashik school
A male leopard was rescued by the forest department from the Deolali camp area in Nashik on Saturday, an officer said.
The leopard was found in Nashik's Deolali camp area, from where it will be released back into the forest by the department.

Truck runs down slope of Khandala Ghat after brakes fail
A chilling incident was recorded on a mobile phone camera on Friday where a truck is seen running down the slope of Khandala on the Mumbai Pune Expressway. The brakes of the truck were claimed to go fail before it ran down the ghat.
The truck was headed on its way to Kalamboli from Solapur carrying sacks of cement. According to the information received regarding this incident, the driver of the truck Sanjay Yadav noticed that the brakes of the truck had failed at Khandala Ghat. He brought the car under control and parked it on one side in the ghat with the help of hand brake.

Maharashtra govt tells Bombay HC: ‘Transgender persons can apply for police constable posts'
The Maharashtra Government on Friday told the Bombay High Court that it will allow transgender persons to apply for the posts of police constables in the ongoing state-wide recruitment process and that it would frame rules setting standards for their physical tests by February 2023.
The HC had warned the government on Thursday that it would halt the entire recruitment process and observed that the State was lagging behind in framing rules for creating provisions for their recruitment process.

Heavy vehicles restricted tomorrow on THESE roads due to concert at Mahalaxmi Race Course
Mumbai Traffic Police have informed that ahead of the Feeding India Concert organised at Mahalaxmi Race Course, entry restrictions on heavy vehicles will be imposed on 10th December, between 09.00 hrs to 24.00 hrs (9 am to 12 midnight) on the roads which will probably get congested.
"Feeding India Concert, a Musical Event is being organized at Mahalaxmi Racecourse, Mumbai. Large number of the crowd is expected to attend the event which may lead to traffic congestion on the roads leading towards programe venue from Worli Traffic Division. Therefore, in order to minimize traffic congestion on those roads, entry of heavy vehicles needs to be restricted by issuing an order on a temporary basis, noted the circular by Mumbai traffic police.
