Mumbai: In a shocking lapse in police protocol, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Kamgar Sena Vice President Amit Matkar was allegedly threatened inside his Saat Rasta office by an undertrial accused. The accused, identified as Imran Khan, is currently lodged in Arthur Road Jail.
The incident took place while Khan was being escorted to court from jail. During the transfer, he allegedly managed to visit Matkar’s office and issue threats, causing a major uproar.
Following the incident, the Mumbai Police has initiated disciplinary action against the two escorting police responsible for Khan’s custody. Both are expected to be suspended pending inquiry.

Matkar has claimed that Imran Khan is connected to the accused involved in the 2017 attempted murder case against him. The brazen breach of security has raised serious questions about police negligence and the handling of high-risk undertrials. Further investigation is underway.
