Mumbai: In a shocking incident reported from Siddharth Nagar in Worli, a 60-year-old man allegedly shot his wife in the head, killing her instantly, and then turned the gun on himself on the staircase of the building, ending his own life. The tragic event is suspected to have stemmed from a domestic dispute.
The deceased couple belonged to the Nampelli family, according to preliminary police information. Residents of the area alerted authorities after hearing an argument followed by gunshots.
The Worli Police reached the spot immediately and recovered the firearm used in the incident. The weapon has been seized, and an investigation is underway to determine how the accused obtained it.
The double death has left the local community in shock. The police have sent both bodies for postmortem and are further probing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
