Mumbai: A heartbreaking incident took place on the Mumbai-Goa highway, resulting in the death of Dr. Priyanka Ahir, a 32-year-old woman physician. The event occurred in Tempale, Raigad district, when a fast-moving container heading toward Mahad crashed into Dr. Ahir's WagonR car, which was approaching from the rear and struck the container violently.
The impact was so intense that the vehicle got trapped beneath the container's rear wheel and flipped over, leading to Dr. Ahir's death on-site. Another occupant in the vehicle suffered severe injuries and has been taken to a local hospital for care.
The collision caused traffic delays on the crowded highway for some time, leading the Goregaon Police Station to respond promptly to handle the scene. Local residents also helped in removing the injured passenger from the debris, according to reports.

The crane lifted the vehicle from the accident site, enabling traffic to continue. Initial inquiries indicate that the collision might have resulted from the vehicle's high speed and an inability to keep a safe distance from the container, and the container driver is presently being interrogated.
