Mumbai: A drowning incident was reported off Silver Beach near Godrej Gate in Juhu on Friday morning, where two boys were swept into the sea while swimming. While one was successfully rescued by on-duty lifeguards, a search operation is underway for the second boy who remains missing.
Details On The Drowning Incident
According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), the distress call was received around 10:24 am earlier today. The incident, however, had occurred earlier at approximately 8:30 am, as per lifeguards stationed at the beach. Immediate response was launched involving multiple civic and emergency agencies.

BMC officials confirmed that the incident involved two young boys who had ventured into the sea despite high tide conditions. Alert lifeguards managed to rescue one of them swiftly, but the second boy was pulled deeper into the waters and could not be located.
Massive Search Operation Initiated To Look For Missing Boy
Following the alert, a coordinated rescue effort was launched by the Mumbai Fire Brigade, local police, BMC’s K-West ward officials and 108 emergency medical services. As of the last update at 10:50 am, efforts to trace the missing boy were still ongoing. Divers, rescue boats and beach surveillance teams were deployed in the operation.
The identity of the boys has not yet been made public and it is unclear whether they were locals or tourists. Authorities are working to notify families and verify details. More details into the matter are awaited.
