Mumbai: In a tragic incident, a 17-year-old girl ended her life by jumping from the 45th floor of a residential building in Goregaon East on Tuesday. The Aarey Police have registered the case as an accidental death after the initial investigation.
The girl was a Class 11 student at an international school. A suicide note found in her bag stated that the decision was her own and that no one should be held responsible, according to the Loksatta report. Police officials stated that the teenager had been battling depression for the past six years and was currently receiving treatment.

According to the statement given by her father, which has been recorded by the police, she had previously attempted suicide and was under medical care. He recalled that she once told a psychiatrist, "Everyone has to die eventually, so why are we living?", as per the report. After reviewing the father's statement, the police did not find any suspicious circumstances. As a result, the case has been registered as an accidental death.

On Monday, a tragic incident occurred in the Kannamwar Nagar area of Vikhroli, where a young woman died by suicide after jumping from the terrace of a 22-storey building. The incident took place at Building No. 97, where the woman reportedly jumped from the 22nd-floor terrace.
Vikhroli Police quickly responded to the scene and are currently investigating the situation to determine the reasons behind her drastic decision. They have initiated a preliminary investigation to ascertain whether the young woman was experiencing mental distress or facing any personal or physical challenges.
Upon receiving the report, the police conducted a panchnama and sent the body for a postmortem examination. The exact reason for the woman's decision to end her life remains unknown.
