Mumbai Road Accident: Speeding Tempo Rams Into Rickshaw In Mankhurd; Woman Passenger Injured

Mumbai: A speeding tempo collided with an oncoming auto rickshaw in the Mankhurd area of Mumbai on Monday evening. The incident occurred while a woman passenger was travelling in the auto rickshaw. The impact caused injuries to the passenger, who is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital.

The injured passenger, identified as Vrushali Chalwadi, is a 30-year-old resident of Komothe. She was on her way to meet her mother in the Trombay area around 7 PM when the accident happened, according to the Loksatta report.

According to reports, the tempo struck the rickshaw, causing Vrushali to fall and sustain serious injuries. After knowing about the incident the Trombay police quickly responded and took Vrushali to a private hospital in Chembur for treatment.

She is currently being treated in the intensive care unit. The police have registered a case and arrested the tempo driver, and they are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident, as reported.

In a separate news story of the road accident from Mumbai city, one person was killed, and a teenager was seriously injured when their motorcycle crashed into an illegally parked truck on the Eastern Express Highway. The incident occurred in the early hours of July 6.

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Bharat Mangilal Jain (Kothari), while the injured passenger, 18-year-old Jay Shankar Jain (Kothari), is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Chembur.

According to the Vikhroli Police, the crash took place around 12:10 AM near the Narayan Bodhe Bridge in Vikhroli East. Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Narendra Govind Magar, who was on night duty with the Vikhroli Mobile Unit 1, received information about the accident from the police control room and quickly responded to the scene.

Investigations revealed that an Ashok Leyland container truck (RJ 40 GA 5978) had been left stationary in a dangerous position on the incline of the Narayan Bodhe Bridge without any warning signs, reflectors, or lights to alert oncoming traffic.
