Mumbai: Following extreme rainfall in Mumbai on July 22, SpiceJet has issued a weather-related advisory for passengers. The airline warned that due to the adverse weather conditions, all departures, arrivals, and their consequential flights to and from Mumbai Airport (BOM) may be affected.

In the advisory, SpiceJet urged commuters to check their flight status before heading to the airport. The airline has advised passengers to stay updated through official communication channels, considering that delays or schedule changes are possible due to the ongoing rainfall in the city.

The advisory was issued in response to the heavy rainfall Mumbai witnessed on Monday, which has already caused disruption in various parts of the city. The alert serves as a precaution to avoid inconvenience for air travellers amid the continuing downpour.

The advisory was shared by SpiceJet in a post on X, stating: "Due to bad weather (rain) in Mumbai (BOM), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status via [official channels]."

Heavy Rainfall In Parts Of Mumbai

On the evening of July 22, parts of Mumbai experienced a shift in weather, with heavy rains falling in Churchgate and nearby suburbs, while most other areas of the city stayed mostly dry during the day. However, the rainfall is expected to extend further, with light showers predicted in various parts of Mumbai by tonight.

While the recent rainfall has provided some relief from the prevailing humid conditions, residents are advised to stay cautious, particularly in areas vulnerable to waterlogging. Weather activity is expected to intensify in other parts of the city overnight. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert forecasting increased heavy rainfall over the next four days.
