The newly inaugurated underground metro line announced that metros are running as per the regular schedule from 6:30 AM to 10:30 PM, and requested passengers to continue their travel as usual. The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday to clarify that services on this route.

Waterlogging Reported At Acharya Atre Station On Monday

The early monsoon rains exposed certain vulnerabilities in the newly operational line. One of the major incidents was reported at Acharya Atre Station, situated along the BKC-Worli stretch.

This station, part of the recently launched section of the Aqua Line, experienced significant waterlogging, with visuals showing knee-deep water inside the premises. As a precautionary measure, authorities were temporarily shut down the station and evacuated staff to ensure safety on Monday.

Worli MLA Aaditya Thackeray Slams Govt Over Waterlogging On Metro Line 3 At Acharya Atre Chowk Station

Worli MLA Aaditya Thackeray strongly criticised the BJP-led dispensation after heavy rains on Monday led to a suspension of services at the newly opened Acharya Atre Chowk station, part of the recently launched second phase of Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line.

Thackeray visited the station and criticised the government for what he described as “shoddy execution” of the project. Upon learning that the waterlogging was caused by ongoing construction activities, he questioned why the station was inaugurated in such haste.
