Mumbai: Mumbai woke up to a sunny morning on Saturday, with no signs of rain. The city is expected to witness comparatively lighter showers over the next few days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Though the monsoon remains active across several parts of India, including Delhi and central regions, the weather pattern in Mumbai and its surrounding regions is showing signs of moderation for now.

Weather Forecast For City Today

Today, Mumbai is expected to witness cloudy skies with light to moderate rain in various pockets. Daytime temperatures are likely to hover around 30°C, while the minimum temperature may remain close to 28°C. With humidity levels ranging between 80 per cent and 90 per cent, residents may feel sticky and uncomfortable throughout the day.

As per IMD’s forecast, light to moderate rainfall is expected in Mumbai and surrounding areas between August 2 and August 3. The weather agency has not issued any heavy rain alerts for the city during this period. While the skies will remain overcast, the city will also experience warm and humid conditions, especially during the daytime.

Change Of Weather From August 4

The IMD has forecast a change in weather conditions from August 4 onwards, when rainfall may intensify again. While the possibility of heavy rainfall has not been ruled out in the coming week, no official warning has been issued yet. However, the potential increase in rain could bring relief from the oppressive heat and humidity.

Rainfall distribution across the city is expected to vary. South Mumbai localities such as Colaba, Marine Drive and Gateway of India may witness cloudy weather with light drizzle. Western suburbs, including Andheri, Bandra and Jogeshwari are likely to receive moderate rainfall. In the eastern suburbs like Kurla, Ghatkopar and Chembur, intermittent rain is expected, accompanied by dense clouds.

Weather Forecast For Upcoming Week

Looking ahead, mostly cloudy skies with chances of light rain or drizzle are predicted on August 3. Rainfall is expected to pick up from August 4, with a possibility of heavier showers under persistent cloud cover. Overcast skies with continued rainfall likely, is predicted for August 5.

Elsewhere in Maharashtra, a similar trend is expected. While parts of East Vidarbha such as Nagpur and Chandrapur may continue to receive rain and are under a yellow alert, most regions in the state are likely to experience only light rain or dry spells over the coming days.
