Mumbai: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that Mumbai will experience cloudy conditions with moderate to heavy rainfall from July 5-7. Intense rainfall may result in water accumulation, especially in low-lying regions like Hindmata, Sion, Andheri Subway, Parel, and Dadar.

Significant rainfall is expected, which could result in severe conditions in multiple areas. The lowest temperature is expected to hover around 25-27°C, whereas the highest temperatures could climb to 30-32°C. Elevated humidity levels are likely to continue, falling between 80-85%, which is standard for the monsoon season. Winds will mainly come from the west or southwest at speeds ranging from 20-30 km/h, with sporadic gusts reaching 40-50 km/h.

Tidal conditions on July 6 show a high tide near 7:18 PM at about 3.33 meters and an ebb at 1:59 PM at 2.55 meters, which may influence drainage and lead to potential waterlogging problems. The intensity of rainfall could increase as the monsoon system continues to be active.

Residents, particularly in low-lying regions, are advised to get ready for possible waterlogging, have necessary items prepared, and remain informed about the latest updates on rail and road conditions. The IMD has released a yellow alert for Mumbai on July 6, forecasting moderate rainfall and potential thunderstorms, while Thane is under an orange alert, suggesting the possibility of more intense localized showers.

On July 6, predictions indicate approximately 14 mm of rainfall, with peak temperatures close to 28°C and a low around 27°C. Elevated humidity at about 83% will lead to a sticky atmosphere. Exercise caution in areas with water accumulation and minor traffic delays, as well as the possibility of thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds. Residents are urged to limit travel during heavy rainfall and follow real-time weather alerts from IMD.
