Mumbai: The Hinduhridaysamrat Shiv Sena Pramukh Balasaheb Thackeray Middle Vaitarna Reservoir, one of the seven reservoirs supplying water to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) area, is now 90 per cent full as of July 7. In a post shared on the social media platform X, the BMC announced that the reservoir's full storage capacity is 285 meters, and as of today, the water level has reached 282.13 meters.

Due to continuous rainfall, water is being released from the reservoir and is being stored in the Modak Sagar (Lower Vaitarna) Reservoir, which also supplies water to Mumbai. The BMC continues to monitor the situation closely to ensure proper water management and supply across the city.

A video shared by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation of the Hinduhridaysamrat Shiv Sena Pramukh Balasaheb Thackeray, Middle Vaitarna Reservoir. In the post, they stated, "Due to continuous heavy rainfall, three gates of the dam (Gate No. 1, Gate No. 3, and Gate No. 5) were opened by 30 centimetres at 1:15 PM. Currently, water is being released at a rate of 3,000 cusecs."

In another news story related to the Mumbai rains, according to the latest update from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai is expected to receive heavy rainfall and strong winds today, leading to the issuance of a yellow alert for the city.

As of 9 AM on July 7, Mumbai is experiencing light rain, with the temperature at 29┬░C. The chance of rain is 25 per cent, and humidity is at 80%, while winds are blowing at 31 km/h.

The forecast for Monday suggests that light rain will continue throughout the day, with temperatures staying between 28┬░C and 29┬░C.

For the rest of the week, light rain is expected to persist. There is a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms on Monday. Daily temperatures are predicted to range between 27┬░C and 29┬░C, with similar weather patterns continuing from Tuesday through Sunday, including occasional light showers.
