Mumbai: The Mumbai Police have taken precautionary measures because of the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, banning the bursting of firecrackers in the city from 11 May to 9 June in the city. A preventive order has been issued in this regard.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) Akbar Pathan issued the order on Saturday. In the statement, it was clarified that no rockets or flying crackers should be burst during this period. The decision has been taken purely as a precautionary step to maintain peace in the city and to prevent any confusion or spread of rumours.
The Mumbai Police have appealed to citizens to comply with the order and help maintain peace. They have also urged the public to report any suspicious activity or individuals to the police immediately.
