Mumbai: The Worli police have registered a case against a 25-year-old man from Bengaluru for allegedly sexually assaulting, blackmailing, and extorting to 20 years old Victim over several years, starting when she was still a school student.
20 years old Victim alleged that Mohammad Sanu Khan, 25, from Bengaluru, first approached her when she was in Class 8. According to the FIR, from October 2018 to July 2023, Khan cultivated proximity by following her to school and tuition classes. He allegedly coerced her into repeated sexual relations under threats of defaming her.
The complaint further states that the accused obtained her nude photographs and uploaded them as Instagram stories, causing her public humiliation. Afterward Khan allegedly demanded Rs.50,000 to stop further harassment, threatening that if the money was not paid, he would again upload her private images on social media. The FIR also notes that he threatened to kill her if she refused to meet him.
Following the complaint, the victim was taken to Nair Hospital for examination. Police have cited threats, extortion, and sexual exploitation over an extended period in the case.
A case has been registered under relevant sections pertaining to Sexually assualt, criminal intimidation, extortion, and IT Act provisions relating to the misuse of private images. The investigation is underway to trace and arrest the accused.
