Mumbai: A case of an Uber Cab driver molesting a minor girl in his car has come to light in Mumbai's Dadar area. The Dadar police have arrested the accused Uber driver, identified as Shreyansh Pandey, following a complaint filed by the minor's family in this case.
According to Dadar Police, the minor victim had booked the vehicle of the accused to go home, but instead of leaving the house, he was taken to a deserted place and molested.
According to information received from Dadar Police, the 14-year-old minor lives in Powai area. On May 14, she went to her school in Prabhadevi. She booked an Uber car from the app to go home at 4:30 in the evening.
After the vehicle arrived, she sat in it, but the accused driver instead of taking her to the address of Powai, took her to a deserted place on the side of Eastern Expressway and molested her there.
After coming home, the minor told his father about the entire incident. After this her father filed a complaint with Dadar police. Police registered a case under BNS and POCSO Act and arrested the accused. Further investigation is ongoing in this matter. When contacted, the representative of Uber Cab said that they do not know about this but will inform after getting the information.
