The incident took place on July 15, when RPF Assistant Sub-Inspector Lalit Kumar Tripathi, along with Constable Poonam Dixit and MSF staff member Suryakant Panchal, was patrolling Platform Number 7. They were alerted by passengers about an unattended bag lying in a local train.

"The RPF team immediately brought the bag to the RPF Andheri post for inspection. During the examination, an ID card with a mobile number was discovered inside the bag. Acting swiftly, the team contacted the owner using the number and informed her about the recovered property," said an official.

The owner was identified as 21-year-old Munali More, daughter of Vinay More, residing at Room No. 10, B/6, Santosh Apartment, Patel Pada, Dahanu Road (East). More arrived at the RPF post shortly after being contacted and explained that she had mistakenly left the bag behind in a rush during her journey.

After verifying her identity with valid documents, the RPF opened the bag in her presence. Upon checking, Ms. More confirmed that all her belongings were intact.

The contents of the bag included a gold chain weighing 2 tolas valued at Rs 1,90,000, an umbrella worth Rs 300, two books worth Rs 200, a scarf worth Rs 300, a bag worth Rs 500, a tiffin box worth Rs 200, a ladies’ purse worth Rs 200, cash amounting to Rs 15,000, and two ATM cards. The total value of the items was estimated at Rs 2,06,700.

"All the items were safely handed over to More, who expressed her deep gratitude to the RPF Andheri staff for their honesty, diligence, and quick response. A photograph of the handover was taken and included in the official record," the official further added.
