In a tragic incident during the morning rush hour, a man died after falling from a moving train between Koper and Diva stations on the Central Railways suburban section on  23 July Wednesday around 8 am. This stretch, part of the Dombivli-Thane section, is among the most crowded in Mumbai's suburban rail network.

According to government railway police officials, the deceased has been identified as Munna Yadav, a rag picker who resided in Diwa. Yadav reportedly lost his balance and fell from the packed train amid peak-hour congestion.

"A case of accidental death has been registered," said an officer from the Dombivli Railway Police. "The deceased was found near the tracks and was declared dead at the scene. His body was sent to Shastri Nagar Hospital for postmortem."

The police have contacted Yadav’s brother, who resides in Bhiwandi. Originally from Uttar Pradesh, Yadav had been living in the city for several years. His body will be handed over to his family once they arrive.

"This incident highlights ongoing concerns about passenger safety during peak travel times on Mumbai's suburban railways, where overcrowding often forces commuters to hang from train doors or stand precariously near the edge" stated Ramnath Singh (46) of Dombivali a frequent commuter of CRs suburban section.
