The Amboli police have registered an FIR against Rahil Shaikh for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and outraging a woman’s modesty. Rahil is the son of MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) state vice president Javed Shaikh. A shocking video of Rahil driving drunk and in a semi-nude state while abusing a woman went viral. The woman, Rajshree More, 39, shared the video from her Instagram account, showing Rahil drunk and hurling abuses at her in the presence of the police. He had crashed into More’s car late on Sunday night and, instead of apologising, Rahil can be seen using abusive language and threatening her. This brazen behaviour was recorded on camera.
According to the FIR, the 39-year-old complainant is a businesswoman residing in Andheri West. The incident occurred on July 7 at around 1:30 am on Veera Desai Road, Andheri West. The woman’s vehicle was on the road when Rahil’s car struck her car and overtook it, driving recklessly. She then instructed her driver to overtake Rahil’s car as she wanted to confront him. Her driver chased Rahil’s car and stopped it near Andhericha Raja, Veera Desai Road.
The woman got out of her car and approached Rahil’s vehicle, but he refused to come out. She then sought police help. After the police intervened, he opened his car door, revealing that he was shirtless and heavily intoxicated. Upon getting out of the car, he started verbally abusing her. When the woman confronted him about his rash driving, he threatened her and boasted that his father is a leader of the MNS party.
In the video, Rahil is heard arrogantly saying in Marathi, “My father is the vice president for Maharashtra in MNS. You just take the money. Please spare me. I made a mistake. Now you go. Go and tell the cops I am Javed Shaikh’s son, then you’ll see what happens.”
He also passed comments claiming that she was not wealthy and told her to go to the MNS chief's residence, use his name, and take money — all while verbally abusing her. In her complaint, the woman also alleged that he tried to come close to her and continued abusing the police as well.
The woman is also heard saying in the video, “You think you can drive drunk and ram your car into me. Oh, so now you’re using cuss words for me? You just flaunted your contacts, bragging about your father. You won’t be spared. Why are you drinking and driving? He smashed into me and now is abusing me too. He’s telling me I don’t know his father, to go to Raj Thackeray’s house and take money. Did your father tell you to drive drunk and ram into others’ cars?”
The police took Rahil to the Amboli police station and registered a case against him under sections 79 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way), and 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with section 185 (driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs) of the Motor Vehicles Act on Monday.
According to sources, the complainant woman is known to be actress Rakhi Sawant’s former best friend turned rival. She made headlines earlier after posting a video on social media in which she made a controversial remark about the Maharashtrian community related Marathi language matter. Following her remark, MNS workers from Versova filed a complaint against her at the Oshiwara police station. She later issued a public apology and deleted her post.
