In a significant development, the Bhandup Police have arrested notorious gangster Shahzada Yakub Malik alias Sajju, on June 28, for allegedly assaulting an SB Transport Company supervisor and demanding an extortion amount of Rs 5 lakh. Sajju Malik, who operates under the alleged patronage of a local MLA in Bhandup, used an Innova car with an "Assembly Member" (MLA) logo to exert pressure and threats, highlighting a brazen display of power.
According to the FIR, the complainant, Sardar Sayyad Badashalal Sayyad,43, a supervisor at SB Transport Company, owned by Shabbir Sheikh, deals in transportation and supply of construction materials. The company had received a work order from Appco Infratech Pvt. Ltd. for stone-laying work at the BMC Complex, Dargah Road, Bhandup West.
On June 28, work began at 10 AM, with seven trucks of soil and stones unloaded. Around 12 PM, Sajju Malik, accompanied by his associates Pradip Singh alias Lallu, Pathak, and Rafiq Bangali, arrived at the site and allegedly ordered a halt to operations. Despite the initial intimidation, the company continued its work.
At 4 PM, Malik returned with his associates in an Innova (MH-47 PF-9099) prominently featuring an "Assembly Member" logo.
According to Sayyad's complaint, Malik began verbally abusing and intimidating supervisor Sayyad and other employees, threatening them by saying, "Don't you know that you need Sajju Bhai's permission to work in this area?".

When Sayyad informed him that they had a legal work order, Malik retorted, "Work orders don't work here, Sajju Bhai's order works here," and began assaulting Sayyad. Sajju Malik then threatened him, saying, "If you want to work here, tell Shabbir to give me Rs 5 lakh in cash by tonight, otherwise stop work from tomorrow or I will kill you."
Malik also reportedly extended his extortion threats to officials and employees of Appco Company. Following the harrowing incident, Sayyad immediately informed to Shabbir and then lodged a complaint at Bhandup Police Station. Based on the complaint, police have filed an extortion case against Sajju and his accomplices, initiating further investigation.
