Mumbai: The Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation has celebrated a major milestone, 200 million commuter journeys, and shared a behind-the-scenes look at the advanced systems that keep the metro running smoothly every day.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the corporation highlighted the vital role of its cutting-edge Operation Control Centre, describing it as the “control room that never sleeps.” They praised the unsung heroes working in the control room, emphasising that every smooth metro ride is made possible by the round-the-clock efforts of these dedicated teams.

"As we celebrate our historic milestone of 200 million journeys, let us step inside our 24/7 high-tech nerve hub—the Operation Control Centre,” the post stated.

The post also mentioned that the control room is equipped with 2,080 cameras and real-time monitoring systems that ensure hundreds of thousands of daily journeys continue without a hitch. In a video shared by Maha Mumbai Metro, viewers were given a rare glimpse into the heart of the operations. The footage showcased the advanced systems used to manage every train across the network, reunite passengers with lost belongings, and handle emergencies within seconds.

The celebration not only marked a significant journey count but also served as a tribute to the people and technology behind Mumbai’s rapidly growing metro network.
