Mumbai: Mumbai Metro 3's Phase 1- BKC to Aarey JVLR is set to start today from 11 am. Since a good part of this metro network is underground, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) has made arrangements to provide mobile network connectivity to its commuters to improve their travel experience.
For now, connectivity will be available near ticketing windows and concourse of Metro 3 stations. Other areas like, platforms and tunnels will have mobile network connectivity in due course.
"MMRCL will shortly have seamless 4G and 5G mobile network connectivity from different service providers on all its stations and inside the train," it said on Sunday besides providing information about key areas nearby including JVLR, SEEPZ Office on its official X handle.

The passengers can purchase single and return journey tickets from mobile application, ticket counters, ticket vending machines and MMRCL website. They can also download the mobile ticketing app available at Google Play and Apple App Store. The tickets will remain valid for 3 hours for to and fro journey. The commuters buying tickets inside stations can use available mobile and wifi network to book their ticket hassle free.

The Phase 1 of the Mumbai Metro 3 was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on Saturday, October 5. He also travelled in the Mumbai's first underground Metro network and interacted with students and workers. CM Eknath Shinde and Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis were also present with PM Modi during his ride from BKC to Aarey.
The entire stretch of Mumbai Metro 3- Colaba-Bandra-Seepz is expected to be operational next year.
