Mumbai: A burglary attempt at a locked house in Kahaw village in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria was foiled after the Mumbai-based homeowner spotted the crime live on CCTV and alerted locals and the police. The swift response led to the arrest of three burglars, along with the recovery of two firearms. The arrested individuals hail from the Gorakhpur district.

The house belongs to Israrfil, a native of Kahaw village, whose entire family resides in Mumbai. Their house, situated near Gahila Mor on the outskirts of the village, remained locked in their absence. Around midnight on the intervening night of March 6 & 7, burglars broke into the house.

Incidentally, the homeowner woke up and decided to check the CCTV footage on his mobile. To his shock, he saw three burglars ransacking his home in real time. Without delay, he informed his brother, the village head, and the police.

Two-Hour Operation Leads To Arrests

Within minutes, the Mail police, accompanied by local villagers, arrived at the scene and surrounded the house from all sides. Using a loudspeaker, the police reportedly instructed the burglars to surrender. However, the thieves refused to comply.

One of the burglars attempted to escape by climbing down a rope from the second floor. As he tried to flee, the police chased him down and arrested him, recovering a firearm in the process. During interrogation, he revealed that two more burglars were still inside, also armed, as reported by Live Hindustan news portal. After a two-hour standoff, the police managed to apprehend them as well. Villagers, angered by the incident, roughed up the burglars before handing them over to the police.

Burglars Came On Motorbikes, Hid Them in Fields

Investigations revealed that the burglars had travelled from Gorakhpur on motorcycles. To avoid suspicion, they parked their bikes in a mustard field outside the village, planning a quick escape if needed, according to the report. However, following their arrest, the police recovered the motorcycles based on their statements.

Details On The Arrested Individuals

The arrested burglars have been identified as Awadhesh Nishad, Sunny Mishra and Jaikishan Yadav alias Golu Yadav. Golu Yadav has a criminal record with previous cases registered against him in Gorakhpur. The arrested burglars have been sent to jail.
