A rail fracture was reported on Wednesday morning between Badlapur and Vangani stations on Central Railway's suburban network, causing delays in services.
According to a Central Railway spokesperson, DN (down) trains were briefly detained following the detection of the fracture. Restoration work was swiftly undertaken and completed by 8:15 am. A track safety clearance was given at 8:23 am, with trains allowed to operate at a restricted speed of 20 kmph in the affected section.

"Track safe given with 20 kmph at 8.23 am," confirmed the CR spokesperson.
However sources revealed that suburban services in the affected section are still operating with restricted speed in the affected stretch, resulting in delays of approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

An X (formerly Twitter) user, Prasad Sawant, reported that the Mumbai-Pune Intercity Express was stranded near Kalyan for over 30 minutes. In follow-up posts, he clarified that the delay was linked to the track issue in the Badlapur–Vangani section.
