Mumbai: The Goregaon police have registered an FIR against a 27year-old man for allegedly harassing his 76-year-old grandmother for money and neglecting her care. His father allegedly died by suicide a few months ago because both his sons were addicted to drugs.
The accused, Aaditya Rajput, has been harassing her and continuously demanding money for drugs. When the harassment became unbearable, the grandmother filed a complaint against him at the Goregaon police station. The police registered an FIR against Aaditya Rajput on July 6.
According to the FIR, the complainant, Smita Rajput, resides in Goregaon West. Her husband passed away in 2014, and her son Sanjay Rajput, 55, allegedly committed suicide on May 5, 2025. Sanjay Rajput had two sons, Aaditya, 27, and Gaurav, 25. Both sons were addicted to drugs.
After his father’s death, Aaditya became more aggressive and violent. He started harassing his grandmother for money, constantly demanding money and threatening her to get it. He even forcibly withdrew Rs5 lakh from his grandmother’s bank account. Tired of the harassment, Smita Rajput went to live with her daughter, Sunita Rajput, 53. But Aaditya went there, too, and continued harassing her.

Ten years ago, Smita Rajput had bought a flat in Jagruti Apartment, Siddharth Nagar, Goregaon West. Since both grandsons were addicted to drugs, she sold the flat to Shivam Builder. This angered Aaditya even more. He demanded that she give him all the money from the sale, but she refused because he would have spent it on drugs. As a result, he intensified the harassment.
