The Vakola police have successfully solved the case of an elderly businessman kidnapped from a moving Kutch Express train within just 24 hours. Not only did the police safely rescue 60-year-old businessman Keshavji Bhimabhai Chaudhary, but they also arrested all three accused involved in the crime.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Radheshyam Mewalal Soni (30), an Ayurvedic product seller; Satish Nandlal Yadav (33), an insurance advisor; and Dharmendra Rampati Ravidas (40), a security guard. All three accused are residents of different parts of Mumbai.

DCP (Zone 8) Manish Kalwaniya stated that after registering the FIR, five teams were formed to investigate the case. Using technical evidence and smart investigative techniques, the police tracked the accused to Mumbai. Although the kidnappers kept changing locations, the police closely followed their movements. Eventually, Radheshyam Soni was arrested in Laljipada, Kandivali, while the other two suspects were nabbed from the Ram Mandir area.

According to the police, the case was reported by the victim’s son, Maheshkumar Keshavji Chaudhary (42). On the night of February 24, around 9 PM, Maheshkumar lodged a complaint stating that his father had boarded the Kutch Express from Bachau railway station in Gujarat to travel to Mumbai. However, midway through the journey, unknown individuals kidnapped him and later demanded a ransom of ₹25 lakh over a phone call, threatening to stab and kill him if the money was not paid.

Following the complaint, the Vakola police registered a case and launched an immediate search operation. During interrogation, Radheshyam Soni revealed that the businessman was being held captive in a building in the Ram Mandir area, where his two accomplices were also present. Acting swiftly, the police raided the premises, arrested the two other suspects, and rescued the businessman unharmed.

The police have confirmed that the accused kidnapped the elderly businessman purely for financial gain. Further investigation is ongoing.
