Mumbai: In a case reported at Matunga Police Station, a senior bank manager has filed a complaint regarding the theft of her Mahindra Thar SUV, which went missing from outside her residential building in Wadala while she was away on official duty in Goa.
The complainant, identified as Trupti Nandalal Sumani (46), currently posted as a Manager with the State Bank of India in Panaji, Goa, resides on Sewree-Wadala Road, Mumbai.
According to Sumani, she had purchased the black Mahindra Thar for personal use on December 31, 2021, and usually parked the vehicle outside her building premises. Before leaving for her posting in Goa on July 7, 2025, she had entrusted a known associate, Shankar Aidola, with the responsibility of washing the vehicle once a week. However, on July 25, after returning to Mumbai, she was informed by Aidola that when he went to wash the SUV at around 9 a.m. on July 15, the vehicle was missing. He had tried contacting her immediately but was unable to reach her.

Upon her return, Sumani searched the surrounding area on July 25 and 26 but could not locate the vehicle. Following this, she approached the Matunga Police Station to lodge a formal complaint. The police have registered a case of motor vehicle theft against an unknown individual and have begun their investigation into the matter. The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between July 15 and July 25. The case remains under investigation.
