Mumbai: The Malad police have booked three persons for allegedly defrauding 39 people of Rs 1.07 crore by falsely promising jobs abroad with fake visas and appointment letters. A police case was registered on Monday.

About The Case

So far, 39 unemployed youths have filed complaints. According to the FIR, the accused have been identified as Aman Shaikh, Jigneshkumar Rathwa, and Ekta Ahire. The trio allegedly operated a bogus company named Aeron Overseas, based in Malad West.

The company advertised on social media, claiming to offer numerous job opportunities abroad for various positions. A link in the advertisement led users to a website with positive reviews, which encouraged many youths from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, and other cities to apply.

Applicants submitted forms online or in person for jobs such as kitchen staff, driver, housekeeping, storekeeper, and security guard. Along with their applications, they submitted passports and transferred Rs 4.5-5 lakh per person into the company’s account for processing, registration, visa, and medical fees.
