Mumbai: In a major crackdown, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai Police has seized 1.18 kilograms of MD (Mephedrone) drugs worth approximately ₹2.03 crore during operations in Ghatkopar and Andheri. The action led to the arrest of three drug peddlers, officials confirmed.
According to ANC sources, the Ghatkopar Unit was patrolling Ghatkopar East on May 31 as part of a special anti-drug campaign when they intercepted two youths selling MD drugs. Police recovered 257 grams of MD from one accused and 156 grams from the other.
During interrogation, the arrested duo revealed the identity of a third associate. Acting on the tip-off, ANC officials arrested the third accused from Andheri West, recovering 605 grams of MD from him.

Initial investigations reveal that the trio was involved in distributing MD drugs across Ghatkopar and Andheri. The police are now probing the source of the drugs and the wider network involved in the trafficking. Officials have urged citizens to report any information related to drug trafficking to the ANC helpline at 981911222 or the Narcotics Control Bureau.
