Mumbai Crime: 29-Year-Old UP Man Arrested With Illegal Firearms, Live Cartridges In Chembur Sting Operation; VIDEO

The Anti-Narcotics Special team of Zone 6 seized two country-made firearms and eight live cartridges from an accused who was allegedly attempting to sell illegal weapons in the RCF police jurisdiction.

Mumbai: The Anti-Narcotics Special team of Zone 6 seized two country-made firearms and eight live cartridges from an accused who was allegedly attempting to sell illegal weapons in the RCF police jurisdiction.

Acting on a confidential tip-off, Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Maitranand Khandare and his team learned that an individual was arriving in the RCF police station limits to sell firearms. In coordination with the Anti-Terrorism Unit of RCF Police, a trap was laid near Jijamata Junction, Mahul Road, Chembur on April 3 at approximately 9:35 PM.

During the operation, the police apprehended Angat Singh Shrigun Gopal Jadhav (29), a resident of Stoli village, Shirsa post, Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh. Upon searching him, officers found two country-made pistols and eight live cartridges in his possession.

A case has been registered against him under Section 3(25) of the Indian Arms Act, 1959, and Sections 37(1)(A) and 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Ganesh Kache.

The Anti-Narcotics Unit officers involved in the operation included PSI Maitranand Khandare, Constables Kedar, Raut, Malve, and Sanap. The Anti-Terrorism Unit officers included PSI Ganesh Kache, Safi Vani, Constables Khaire, and Yele.
