Mumbai's iconic Shivaji Park may soon see relief from ongoing dust pollution caused by red soil at the ground and surrounding walkway. On Tuesday, BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani conducted an on-site inspection and interacted with residents to hear their concerns.

Accompanied by MLA Mahesh Sawant, G/North Ward Assistant Commissioner Vinayak Vispute, and civic officials, Gagrani assured citizens that a sustainable solution would be finalised in consultation with the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B).

“We will act on IIT’s expert recommendations and implement necessary dust control measures,” BMC posted on X. He also instructed BMC staff to improve lighting, enhance cleanliness, and maintain the walkway and open spaces more efficiently to ensure a better public experience.

New Court Infrastructure Approved for Pimpri-Chinchwad

In another key development, the Maharashtra Cabinet has given the green light for the establishment of a District and Additional Sessions Court and a Senior Civil Court in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Describing the move as historic and reassuring, state officials said the decision will significantly benefit citizens of the fast-growing twin city. Legal access will now be more streamlined and locally available, reducing dependence on Pune’s court infrastructure.
