Mumbai: An altercation took place between flyers and Spicejet crew at the Mumbai airport after a Srinagar-bound flight's departure was delayed by approximately four hours on Monday. The passengers were reportedly asked to alight from the plane after the boarding was completed.
Flight No SG944 from Mumbai to Srinagar faced delay and is now expected to depart at 1 pm. The altercation at Mumbai airport has resulted in further delay in operations from Srinagar too. The return flight SG948 from Srinagar to Mumbai has also been delayed by six hours.
Visuals Show Chaos At Mumbai Airport
Visuals of the passengers being deplaned from the aircraft have surfaced on the internet. Some other visuals also showed the verbal spat between the flyers and the airline crew. The frustrated passengers can be seen questionning the airline officials about the reason behind the delay and why were they asked to be deplaned. Some can also be heard complaining about the flight's air conditioning system to be shut all the while.
Spicejet has not issued any formal statement on the matter yet.
