Mira Bhayandar: A 35 year-old-man was shot dead in the Shanti Shopping Centre area of Mira Road on Friday Night. The incident was reported at around 9:30 pm.
The deceased who has been identified as Shams Ansari (35) was shot on his head by a shooter who fled the spot. Sonu died on the spot. The shootout is said to the fallout of a previous enemity.
A man named Yusuf is said to be the prime suspect as he was entangled in a dispute related to case of outraging the modesty of his wife registered against him by the deceased.
An offence under the relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) for murder and Arms Act has been registered at the Naya Nagar police station in Mira Road. The investigating team were scanning CCTV footages installed at the crime spot and possible getaway routes.
