Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar: Manoj Jarange Patil, the leader of the Maratha reservation movement, has intensified his protest against the Maharashtra government by setting a deadline for his demands to be met by August 28. He has threatened to embark on a hunger strike until death beginning August 29 in Mumbai if his requests are not addressed.

Manoj Jarange Patil, a key figure in the Maratha reservation movement, has issued a stark ultimatum: if his major demands, totaling eight to nine, are not met by August 28, he plans to initiate a hunger strike until death in Mumbai on August 29. He emphasised that the ongoing hunger strike in Antarwali Sarati will also persist. Currently, Patil is on a tour in Beed but is cutting it short due to health concerns, having been hospitalized in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.

Alongside the demand for Maratha reservations, he is also seeking justice for the murder of Santosh Deshmukh, a sarpanch from Beed. Despite facing health issues that required him to cut short his tour and receive medical care in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Jarange Patil remains resolute in his mission. He plans to bring two chariots to Mumbai: one symbolising victory and the other for a funeral, highlighting the gravity of his struggle for the dignity of the Maratha community. He insists that the protest is not just about reservation but also about self-respect, urging for an ordinance to recognize Marathas and Kunbis as one.

Jarange Patil points out the lack of advancement on their demands over two years and criticizes the casteist attitudes of officials hindering their aspirations. He promises that the protest will remain peaceful and expresses hope for a favorable outcome. Overall, Jarange Patil's determination to secure justice and recognition for the Maratha community underscores the seriousness of his ongoing agitation.

He reassured that his protest will remain peaceful and expressed hope that no one would be alarmed by his actions. The urgency of the situation highlights the ongoing struggle for rights within the Maratha community, as Patil stands firm in his resolve.
