Navi Mumbai: A 25-year-old man from Dandwadi in Khalapur area of Raigad district, Rajender Pawar, succumbed to injuries sustained in a tragic road accident after his motorcycle collided with a bull sitting in the middle of the road near Wawoshi Junction, in front of the Bank of India, along the Khopoli–Pen Road, under the jurisdiction of the Khalapur Police Station.
The incident occurred on the night of June 11 around 10.30 pm, when Pawar reportedly took his brother’s unregistered motorcycle for a late-night ride along with a friend. While riding at high speed towards Ransai, he allegedly failed to notice road conditions and crashed into a bull that was sitting on the road.
The impact caused severe injuries to Pawar, who was immediately rushed for treatment but passed away on June 24 during medical care. His pillion rider also suffered injuries of varying severity in the accident, according to the investigating officer.

Following the fatality, the Khalapur police registered a case against Pawar under Sections 106(1), 125(A) and 125(B) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Section 281 of the Indian Penal Code (rash driving endangering life), and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act (driving dangerously).
"It was found that the deceased rode the bike negligently and rashly and hence he was booked," a police officer said.
