Maharashtra Politics: Shashikant Shinde Replaces Jayant Patil As State Head Of NCP(SP)

Mumbai: Former minister and MLA Jayant Patil's resignation as state president shifts focus to the new leadership of Sharad Pawar's NCP, with Shashikant Shinde selected for the role. MP Sharad Pawar announced Shinde's appointment, tasking him with securing victories in upcoming local body elections. A general meeting of the Nationalist Party at the YB Chavan Center in Mumbai featured Sharad Pawar, Jayant Patil, former minister Anil Deshmukh, Jitendra Awhad, Harshvardhan Patil, and other key leaders.

After former minister and MLA Jayant Patil resigned from his post as state president, everyone's attention was focused on who exactly would be handed over to the leadership of Sharad Pawar's NCP. Shashikant Shinde has been selected as the state president of Sharad Pawar's NCP. MP Sharad Pawar himself has announced his name. Now that Shashikant Shinde's name has been announced, he will be responsible for ensuring a good victory for the party in the upcoming local body elections.

Today, the general meeting of the Nationalist Party was held at the YB Chavan Center in Mumbai. Sharad Pawar, Jayant Patil, former minister Anil Deshmukh, Jitendra Awhad, Harshvardhan Patil, Shashikant Shinde and many other important leaders were present at this meeting.

After this meeting, many important leaders of the party spoke. Anil Deshmukh proposed the name of Shashikant Shinde for the post of the new state president. This proposal was unanimously passed. After that, Sharad Pawar announced the name of Shashikant Shinde as the new state president of NCP (Sharad Pawar group).

After proposing the name of Shashikant Shinde for the post of state president, this proposal was approved by Sunil Bhusara. Also, this proposal was approved by Uttam Jankar. After that, Sharad Pawar expressed his opinion on this proposal. The name suggested by Anil Deshmukh has been approved by MP Amol Kolhe. This name is in front of all of us. Sharad Pawar said that only one name, Shashikant Shinde, has come up in this election process. He also announced the name of Shashikant Shinde as the new state president of the party.

Who Is Shashikant Shinde?

Shashikant Shinde, born on 19 October 1963 in Humgaon, is a commerce graduate and an influential leader of Mathadi workers. He began his political career in 1999, winning the Javali assembly elections and later serving as Water Resources Minister. Shinde has had multiple terms as an MLA for both Javali and Koregaon constituencies but faced defeats in recent elections. He is now a Legislative Council MLA and aims to become the state president of the NCP's Sharad Pawar group.
