Palghar, Maharashtra: Panic erupted in Nalasopara West after bomb threats were received by Mother Mary and Rahul International Schools. School administrations promptly evacuated students, and police, along with the bomb disposal squad, initiated an immediate investigation. However, no suspicious objects were found at either location.
According to available information, Rahul International and Mother Mary Schools in Nalasopara West enroll students from Class 1 to Class 12. On Wednesday morning, around 4:30 am, an anonymous email was sent to School Principal Madhu Rawat's email ID, stating that 800 kg of RDX had been placed in the school and that it would be blown up.
This alarming message caused immediate disruption. The school management and teachers promptly informed the Nalasopara Police. Following the alert, teams from the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation's Fire Brigade, ACP Vijay Lagare, Senior Police Inspector Vishal Walvi of Nalasopara Police Station, Crime Branch Unit 3, and the bomb disposal squad swiftly arrived at the schools and commenced their search operations.
As a precautionary measure, all students were sent home, and the school buildings were completely evacuated. As of the time of reporting, the police investigation was ongoing.
DCP Jayant Bajbale of Zone 3 stated that the police are actively investigating the origin and sender of the bomb threat email. He confirmed that nothing suspicious was found within the school premises. Bajbale also mentioned that a similar threat email was recently received by a school in Mira Road.
