In a high-level review meeting held at Vidhan Bhavan, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Yogesh Kadam, directed the Energy Department to accelerate power-related projects in the Konkan region. He emphasised the need to provide citizens with safe, high-quality, and timely electricity services.

Kadam instructed officials to shift old transmission lines currently passing through forested areas to routes along roads. This move is expected to prevent power disruptions and improve accessibility for maintenance. He also called for the establishment of new substations and the reinforcement of basic infrastructure in the region.

Highlighting the tourism potential of the coastal belt, Kadam stressed the urgent completion of ongoing power projects in tourist hotspots and seaside towns. "All works must be of high quality and completed within a fixed timeline," he said.

The Minister further demanded the immediate repair of outdated and dilapidated infrastructure, as well as an increase in skilled manpower to support the expanding energy network. He recommended that district-wise review meetings be conducted to closely monitor progress and that detailed reports be submitted on ongoing works.

Kadam also urged the government to launch special programs for Konkan’s development and ensure the necessary funds are allocated without delay.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Energy Meghana Bordikar, former minister and MLA Deepak Kesarkar, MLAs Ravi Patil, Prashant Thakur, Nilesh Rane, and Mahendra Dalvi, along with senior officials from the Energy Department. A detailed discussion was held on the status, challenges, and implementation strategies for various energy projects in the region.
