Mumbai: In a major boost to Maharashtra’s industrial and logistics infrastructure, the state government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Blackstone Group’s subsidiaries—Nexus Industrial Parks (formerly Xsio Logistics Parks) and Horizon Industrial Parks—in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

This landmark agreement aims to develop more than 10 modern industrial and multimodal logistics parks across key regions in Maharashtra. These projects will span 794.2 acres of land, with construction planned on 18.5 million square feet. The total foreign direct investment (FDI) involved amounts to Rs 5,127 crore, and the initiative is expected to generate approximately 27,510 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

The logistics parks will be strategically located in industrial hubs such as Nagpur, Bhiwandi, Chakan, Khandwa, Sinnar, and Panvel. These state-of-the-art projects will be environmentally sustainable, equipped with digital infrastructure, and aligned with the Maharashtra Logistics Policy 2024.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted the transformational potential of the partnership, stating, “This initiative will pave the way for world-class, ESG-compliant industrial and logistics hubs in Nagpur, Mumbai, Pune, and other key locations, creating a strong foundation for manufacturing, warehousing, and supply chain excellence in India.”

The MoU was signed at Sahyadri State Guest House between Industries Secretary Dr. P. Anbalagan and R.K. Narayanan, President of Horizon Industrial Parks. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Ashwini Bhide, MIDC CEO P. Velarasu, Deputy Secretary Laxmikant Dhoke, and senior officials from Blackstone, including Tuhin Parikh, Alok Jain, and Ashish Agarwal, were also present at the ceremony.
