Mumbai: While issuing the Government Resolution on the lottery committee, the state finance department has attributed names to political parties that have not been approved by the Election Commission of India (ECI). In identifying the political parties, the Finance Department has gone by the way the media or public refer to them.
For instance, while mentioning Shiv Sena – Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, it says Shiv Sena UBATHA Gat. When the ECI has recognised the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Ajit Pawar as the real NCP, the GR mentions Rashtravadi Ajitdada Gat.

In the case with the NCP led by Sharad Pawar, it says Rashtravadi Sharad Pawar Gat, whereas the approved name is the Rashtravadi Congress Sharadchandra Pawar. The approval given by the ECI to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena is just Shiv Sena, but the GR says Shiv Sena Shinde Gat.
