Palghar, Maharashtra: A 32-year-old man was brutally murdered on Monday night in Nalasopara East’s Pragati Nagar area, under the jurisdiction of Tulinj Police Station. The unidentified assailants reportedly attacked the victim with a hammer and a tile fragment, striking him fatally on the head. The gruesome incident has sent shockwaves through the neighborhood.

The deceased, identified as Ambar Rashid Khan alias Guddu Khan, worked in the catering business and lived alone in the Hindustan Colony building in Pragati Nagar. According to police sources, Khan's sister, Chandni, became concerned when he did not answer her repeated phone calls around 8:30 pm. She then contacted a family acquaintance, Bablu Gupta, an auto-rickshaw driver residing in Nalasopara, and asked him to check on her brother.

Upon arriving at the residence, Gupta found the door unlocked and discovered Khan lying in a pool of blood with visible head injuries. A blood-stained hammer and a piece of tile were found beside the body. He immediately informed the Tulinj Police.

Police officials arrived at the scene and sent the body for a post-mortem examination. A case of murder has been registered against unknown individuals, and an investigation is currently underway. Authorities suspect the motive behind the killing may be linked to a financial dispute.

The police are continuing their search for the culprits.
