Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Chairs The 110-Day Programme

Chairing the 100-day programme for the Urban Development Department (UDD), Fadnavis asked the officials to strengthen municipal corporations across the state on corporate lines. UDD’s additional chief secretary Asim Kumar Gupta said this is achievable by empowering the planning authorities, besides focusing on road development in 3,500 villages near big cities and digitising the process of granting building permits. Fadnavis noted that capitalintensive infrastructure development needs innovative financial options.

Fadnavis’ 100-day plan involves nine key ministries, with deadline-compliant tasks for secretaries. He has directed the women and child development department to effectively implement a malnutrition eradication campaign not only in rural areas but also in urban slum regions, particularly in the slums of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. He asked the department to coordinate with local selfgovernment bodies for an actionable plan to effectively implement schemes designed for women and children.

With a growing number of cyber frauds across the country, he directed full-steam implementation of the state security project, which includes governance, risk, and compliance based on artificial intelligence. Fadnavis has instructed the creation of new positions for the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, acceleration of setting up new armed outposts in Naxal-affected districts, and the drafting of a Maharashtra Prison Manual akin to the Centre’s guidelines.

With the completion of the first phase of digitisation of all forensic labs in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Nashik, and the establishment of data centres at the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory, efforts are underway to include labs in Amravati, Kolhapur, Nanded, Thane, Dhule, Solapur, Ratnagiri, and Chandrapur.
