Mumbai: Former minister and Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray on Friday stepped up attack against the Shinde Fadnavis government for loss of a Rs 22,000 crore Tata Airbus project to Gujarat and alleged that the investors and industrialists have no faith in the ‘’khoke’’ sarkar.
Aaditya said this is the fourth project after the $20 billion Vedanta Foxconn semiconductor project, bulk drug project and medical devices project, Maharashtra has lost to Gujarat since the Shinde Fadnavis government came to power.
‘’CM is busy in celebrations of festivals and visiting mandals and also in engineering splits in the parties. CM has not travelled to other states like the chief ministers of Odisha and Madhya Pradesh who had come to Maharashtra and invited investors to their states. On top of it, the investors and industrialists have no faith in the government which was formed after committing treachery,’’ claimed Aaditya.
He also targeted the industry minister Uday Samant over the Tata Airbus project going to Gujarat saying that he had announced in the last month that the project will come up in MIHAN at Nagpur. ‘’What happened to the industry minister’s announcement?’’he asked.
Aaditya further slammed the Shinde Fadnavis government saying that double engine Sarkar (BJP government at the Centre and BJP and Shinde camp government in Maharashtra) is a failure as one engine is not working.
‘’On the contrary, when Uddhav Thackeray led Maha Vikas Aghadi government was in Maharashtra and BJP government at the Centre there was a functional double engine, Sarkar, as Maharashtra has received despite the coronavirus pandemic over Rs 6.50 lakh crore investment. Of these investment MOUs, almost 99% are functional now. During the World Economic Forum conference held at Davos in May, which was attended by me along with former industry minister Subhash Desai and former energy minister Nitin Raut, Maharashtra signed MOUs worth Rs 80,000 crore,’’ he said and blamed the Shinde Fadnavis government for its failure in attracting investments in the state.
Further, he said that during the MVA government the focus was given on improving the ease of doing business and in addition a committee of experts was appointed for ease of compliance. ‘’In last three months not a single meeting took place of the committee on ease of compliance,’’ he claimed.
