Five including a 63-year-old lady stucked in an building elevator in Thane

The elevator of the building stopped on the fifth floor due to some technical failure.

Five people, including one 63-year-old lady, were stucked in a ground plus seven-storey Unique Building at Ghodbunder road in Thane on Thursday. The elevator of the aforementioned building stopped on the fifth floor due to some technical failure.

Avinash Sawant, Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) chief, Thane said, "We received the call at around 7pm regarding five people getting stucked in the elevator of Unique building in Patlipada at Ghodbunder road in Thane (West) on Thursday. Soon after receiving the information we reached the spot along with the Balkum fire brigade officials with one fire engine. All the five trapped residents have been rescued safely with the help of fire brigade officials."

The five trapped residents were identified as Mohini Malhotra (45), Vandita Khadse (46), Rekha Khadse (28), Archana (63) and Crocin (41).
