A Mumbai theatre, Karwan Group in collaboration with Curated Classics, has announced the launch of 'Natya Ratan', a prestigious multilingual national theatre festival honouring the late Ratan Tata. The announcement of this four-day festival was made on the death anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata. The festival is scheduled to take place in Mumbai from December 25 to December 28, 2025. It will culminate on December 28, which is also the birth anniversary of the esteemed Late Shri Ratan Tata, serving as a heartfelt tribute to his enduring legacy.

Purpose of Natya Ratan

Natya Ratna aims to unite the rich and diverse traditions of Indian theatre from across the country. The festival will feature strong and varied theatre productions, which will be chosen through a formal entry process and careful curation. It will showcase numerous regional theatre groups, allowing them to display their artistic excellence.

Jamsetji Tata Death Anniversary

Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata was born in a Parsi family. He graduated from Elphinstone College in Mumbai and joined his father's trading firm. He soon began traveling abroad and gained insights into Western business practices. Jamsetji Tata's vision went beyond profits. He believed in nation-building, employee welfare, and education.

His emphasis on innovation, social responsibility, and self-reliance set the tone for future Indian enterprise. He passed away in 1904, but his legacy lives on through the Tata Group, now a global name in steel, technology, energy, and philanthropy.
