The theme for this year’s celebrations is “Remembering Krishna.” The attire being prepared is made using materials that are symbolic of Lord Krishna, such as flutes, peacock feathers, and other elements associated with his divine persona.

Mumbai’s Janmashtami festivities are also famous for their Dahi Handi competitions, where teams of participants form human pyramids to break a pot of curd tied high above the ground, recreating Lord Krishna’s childhood mischief. These events, along with traditional bhajans, aartis, and temple decorations, transform the city into a vibrant hub of devotion and celebration.
