Mumbai: A concerned commuter has called out the Western Railway authorities over the condition of the foot overbridge of Santacruz Station during the ongoing Mumbai rains. The issue was brought to light via a video shared by the X (formerly Twitter) user @mumbaimatterz, showing the rainwater on the station bridge causing difficulties for commuters to enter the station.

In the post, the user tagged key railway authorities, including @drmbct, @RailMinIndia, @RailwaySeva, and @WesternRly, and criticised the apparent lack of basic infrastructure, particularly rainwater gutters. The caption read, “Hope your Engineers ever heard of Rain Water Gutter.. (pic 2)? If fixed, commuters need not suffer like this during #MumbaiRains.”@RailwaySeva.

The video highlights how the absence of a proper drainage system at the station’s roof is causing rainwater to overflow from the Foot overbridge, turning daily commuting into a challenging during the monsoon. The commuter's post quickly gained attention online, sparking conversations about the need for immediate infrastructure improvements at Mumbai’s busy suburban stations.

The RailwaySeva replied to the post stating, "In the post shared by the user, for necessary action, escalated to the concerned official @Drmbct @RailwaySeva. We regret the experience you had. Please share your mobile no. preferably via DM to enable us to take immediate action."

The authorities also added that, "You may also raise your concern directly on directly on http://railmadad.indianrailways.gov.in or dial 139 for speedy redressal." In addition to it, the DRM - Mumbai Central, WR, also replied to the post stating, "Matter notified to concerned."
