CIDCO Cracks Down On Illegal Debris Dumping In Ulwe, Seizes 12 Dumpers

On Friday midnight and Saturday afternoon, a CIDCO team caught 12 dumpers attempting to dump debris on open plots in the Ulwe area near Atal Setu. Following this, two separate cases were registered against the dumper drivers at Nhava Sheva Police Station, and all the dumpers were seized.

Navi Mumbai: On Friday midnight and Saturday afternoon, a CIDCO team caught 12 dumpers attempting to dump debris on open plots in the Ulwe area near Atal Setu. Following this, two separate cases were registered against the dumper drivers at Nhava Sheva Police Station, and all the dumpers were seized.

Statement From A CIDCO Officer

"Large-scale unauthorized dumping of hazardous debris has been observed on CIDCO-owned plots, which has been found to be detrimental to human health and the environment," an officer from CIDCO said.

To curb this issue, CIDCO's Chief Vigilance Officer, Suresh Mengde, is leading a strict enforcement drive involving vigilance officers, the security department, the engineering department, and the police.

At around 1.30 am on Friday, eight dumpers arrived from Mumbai via Atal Setu with the intention of illegally dumping hazardous debris in the Ulwe area. Upon receiving information about this activity, CIDCO's team rushed to the location and seized all eight dumpers. Following this operation, another four dumpers attempted to dump debris in the Ulwe area on Saturday afternoon. These dumpers were also seized by the CIDCO team. As a result, two cases were filed against all the arrested dumper drivers at Nhava Sheva Police Station.

CIDCO has urged citizens to report any unauthorized debris dumping in its jurisdiction via the official website www.cidco.maharashtra.gov.in or to the relevant police station.

Dumper Drivers Against Whom Cases Were Registered

The dumper drivers against whom cases have been registered include Dharmu Nirmal Prasad (24) and Arbaaz Ejaz Ahmed Shaikh (21). Shashi Narayandas Kuril (39), and Riyaz Mainuddin Shaikh (36) have also been booked. Additionally, Farid Shaukat Ali Shaikh (23) and Ahmed Dastagir Shaikh (32), were among those caught along with Girija Shankar Munilal (25), Vimlesh Kumar Pal (35), Shankar Pandit (64), Ashfaq Khan (43), Abdul Jilani (27) and Mohammad Dulare (32) have also been charged in this case.
