About the case
The user elaborated on the issue in a conversation, stating "We checked with the Station Master at Mulund railway station, and he confirmed the train was cancelled. We were heading to Kasara for an overnight trek, but due to the cancellation, we decided to change our plan and head to Karjat instead. We asked the Station Master to check and issue us a new ticket to Karjat, canceling the old one. However, he wasted almost an hour and later told us that they couldn't cancel and issue a new ticket."
He added that "Because if buying proper tickets to board the train is our responsibility then to refund the tickets if trains are cancelled is railways responsibility".
