Elections of 24 municipal corporations in Maharashtra including the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections are likely to get postponed, media reports stated.
The possibility of holding the BMC elections before monsoons is unlikely.
Last year, the MVA government, which was then in power reorganized the wards of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and increased the number of wards from 227 to 236.
After the government fell and the new Shinde-BJP alliance was formed, the decision of the Mavia government was reversed and the number of wards was restored to 227.
