Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has extended the deadline for water bill payments in Mumbai until March 30. According to an announcement on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, residents will have three additional days—March 29, 30, and 31—to make payments.

BMC also shared the specific timings for bill payments during this period: residents can pay their bills between 8 PM to midnight. This extension and the payment process will be carried out under the Abhay Yojana scheme, providing a final opportunity for residents to settle their dues.

In an X post, BMC stated, "Water bills can be paid on all three public holidays—29th, 30th and 31st March 2025—between 8 AM and 12 Midnight. Under 'Abhay Yojana', you can get a waiver on additional charges by paying your water bill in full at once."The last date for bill payment is Monday, 31st March 2025. Ensure timely payment to avoid inconvenience.

As per the BMC officials, it is mandatory for citizens to pay their water bills within one month of the bill date, with any delay resulting in additional charges. However, the "Abhay Yojana" offers an exceptional chance to avoid these penalties, according to the report.
